By Raymond Zhong and Chang W. Lee

Antarctica’s melting ice is already raising sea levels around the globe. To find out how soon and by how much extra water to expect on the world’s coasts, nearly 40 scientists from the Korea Polar Research Institute are travelling to Antarctica to drill holes, fly over the ice with radars, and tag seals with sensors. The New York Time’s reporter Raymond Zhong and photographer Chang W. Lee joined them to report “live” from the expedition.
